LASH EXTENSIONS
WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Semi-permanent eyelash extensions are synthetic lashes that are attached to your natural eyelashes. Unlike false or strip lashes, extensions are glued one by one to individual eyelashes and NOT to your skin. Extensions enhance your natural beauty by adding length and fullness to your existing lashes. They let you wake up looking radiant and walk out the door without as much as a swipe of mascara!
HOW LONG WILL THEY LAST?
When properly cared for your eyelash extensions will last until your natural eyelashes fall out as they normally would. Exact timing varies, but most people’s eyelashes shed every 2-3 months (2-4 per day). To maintain your look, come in for a fill session every few weeks.
ARE THEY SAFE?
Yes. When properly applied, eyelash extensions are a safe and gorgeous alternative to mascara and strip lashes.
DOES EXTENSIONS REALLY MAKE YOUR NATURAL LASHES FALL OUT?
Nope! When properly applied and cared for, eyelash extensions will not harm your natural lashes. Instead, your natural lash will shed as it normally does, taking the extension with it. A new lash will grow in its place.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Come to your appointment without wearing any eye makeup (no mascara, eyeliner or shadow). If you normally wear contacts, bring your case and glasses. For your first appointment, please arrive 5 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Depending on how many natural eyelashes you have and the style of lashes you choose, the application of a full set can take up to 3 hours, while most fills can be completed within 60 minutes. For more specific timing, please refer to our services menu.
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY LASHES?
Caring for your extensions is simple. In the first 24 hours after your appointment, avoid getting your lashes wet, rubbing them, and going in a sauna or steam room. Beyond that, just be gentle! Don’t curl or perm your lashes, and avoid oil-based products near your eyes (makeup, makeup remover, sunscreen, etc.).
CAN I WEAR EYE MAKEUP WITH EXTENSIONS?
Extensions are so beautiful on their own that you’ll probably find you don’t need any additional enhancement. However, if you just can’t live without your eyeliner or mascara, go ahead. Just make sure it’s water-soluble and oil-free, as makeup with oil can loosen the glue’s bond, causing the extension to separate from the natural lash and fall off prematurely.
When you remove your makeup, stick to oil-free removers and be careful not to rub your eyes. Please be advised that even if you choose to wear oil-free makeup, there’s a chance your extensions will separate prematurely.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY FIRST FULL SET?
You will first sit down with one of our experienced lash stylists for a brief consultation. She will examine your natural eyelashes and discuss the look you want to achieve. After this conversation, you will take a seat on one of our comfortable beds, where you can listen to music or an audio book. Your lash stylist will cover your lower lashes for protection, then begin the process of individually bonding extensions to your natural lashes. The procedure is safe, painless and relaxing – so much that you may find yourself drifting off! At the end of the procedure, your stylist will remove the protective covering from your lashes and give you a first look at your new eyes.
